shunt problems

somebody told me that children with shunt will experiance problems going to the toilet as the shunt is somehow related to this area is it correct. they also said children with shunt canot  control bowel movements and there fore canot participate in school swimming programmes. as bowel movements canot be  controlled. they also told me people who have a shunt can end up in wheel chairs and also because of the shunt operation could have varying degrees of autism. . can anybody set my mind at rest to any of these doubts.
