i always freak out thinking my 11.5 month old sleeps too much.  he normally wakes up about 7:30am and goes down for a nap between 9:30 and 10am.  he will sleep for a hour and a half or 2 and then an afternoon nap btween 2:30 and 3Pm.  sometimes he only takes one.  am i freaking out over nothing?  i am a hypo.

Sounds like our elder son when he was a baby.  He was 39 a couple of weeks ago.  Yes, I think you are "freaking out over nothing".  Relax - he probably needs the rest because he is growing physically and growing mentally.

Sounds normal to me.    Most babies take 2 naps a day.

My second did not stop taking two naps a day till he was almost 18 months...he just needed more rest than my first son...he is now 3.5 and still takes a nap on a regular schedule at daycare for two hours....and then goes to bed at 9:00 or 9:30--this morning he slept until 8:15--no worries it is his way of staying on schedule.  Only worry if after all the sleep he sitll is lethargic and has no energy--then he may be run down...but if he plays normally and eats well then no concern.

My son slept more than yours! He would wake around 5am, take a nap around 8am for 2-3 hours. His second nap was in the afternoon for another 2-3 hours and he went to bed at 6pm! My daughter is the opposite I have to beg her to go to sleep! I think he is alright!
