sleeping habit

My son sleeps alot during the day and has problems sleeping at night. His days and nights are mixed up. What can I do to change his sleeping habits? I try to wake him up during the day and he cries alot because he wants to go to sleep. Please help with any ideas. Should I let him cry it out at night until he falls asleep? Thank you.

How about as he has obviously formed this habit , you let him sleep for a short while then wake him and play ,do stuff with him, if he goes off again allow him enough time to be rested then wake him, this is only till he breaks the pattern ,Actually at 2 months old he would be sleeping a lot anyway I did not realise in your first post his age.. he could have cholic at night ,perhaps ask your doctor, if he has it will pass a lot of babies get it ,make sure he is ;winded' well do you breast feed or bottle feed.Ther is some liquid called Gripe water you can get OTC or again ask your Doc.

My son is 2 months old and  I have tried to play with him during the day but he will not stay awake. I put music, I take him out to the stores and I have also had my other 2 kids make alot of noise but it doesn't work. I tried to have a routine for him but everything I do is not working.

thanks for your comment. Linda842

How old is he? get him up at a reasonab;le time, dont put him to bed all day.. s achild requires playing, parks and fun..depending on his age let him sleep after luch for an hour, then its playtime agin, reading Music , enjoying him...you have top be consistant , the first few days will be tough, he yells at night because he is not tired so play all day sleep at night ...or sleep all day and play all night the choice is yours .
