social issues w/ 11 yr old daughter

Looking for direction in helping my 11 year old daughter w/ behavior issues which are affecting her socially.  She has alienated people with her constant complaining/negativity.  She has moments of irritability and has a "dirty" mouth - which she saves for the parents and a sibling.  Her behavior has caused a lot of strife in our home life.  I'm wondering if her behavior is influenced by something physical or mental.  Recent bloodwork for her yearly check up showed that her TSH level was high and her triglyceride levels were high as well.  Her dr. said that she is no where near menstruating but, she is already quite tall at 5''4.  She will be having follow up blood work, but in the meantime, is there something that can be done to manage some of the social issues she is having?  A teacher said that she seems sad and that she has said things to kids that are troublesome.

Maybe depression or high anxiety?  You should have a doctor check for those.

Ugh...you adults don't get it do you??? No a days lots of kids say things in their heads!! I scream at people in my head!! But at least those kids know that it is rude to say them out loud. She was probaley pushed to far and is a loner in school. Loner as in barely having friends.

darkpoet,  this might surprise you,  but kids aren't different this generation than they were the generation before that,  and before that,  and before that,  ad infinitum.  

All of us have been your age.  You aren't different than we were.  You aren't a member of a new species,  heretofore unknown.  

All generations of youth think they are unique and no one understands them,  we all get that.  Wait til you're 30,  you'll get the perspective too.

You are what we were.  Which is a good  thing,  that means that although you don't think adults understand you,  they understand you quite well.  You just don't understand us,  because you've not been an adult yet.
