As you have concerns it is sensible to have your son evaluated. I would go to your paediatrician and tell them your concerns. He will probably need to have his hearing tested to rule that out. A speech and language therapist should also assess his language and social interaction skills. Does your son have any suspected sensory issues eg. does he appear deaf, cover his ears at noise, throw tantrums at haircuts/nails being cut.
Does he throw a tantrum at change or having to stop doing something. Does he like to leave the house.
What is he like with his peer group?
Does he bring things to show you. Does he involve you in his play? Does he want your attention or can he play by himself for long periods of time.
Does he like TV alot.
