ten year old daughter bed wetting

my daughter has wet the bed since birth, no physical problems, just that she tells me she wants to be baby forever., while her twin sister wants to be older..their mother says she will outgrow this, but i feel its psychological and my daughter gets up everyday and removes her pull up and off to school without a shower ..what are the health hazzards in not showering after laying in urine all night for my daughter

Nocturnal enuresis is displayed by approximately 5% of children her age, so it's by no means rare. Almost always the condition is essentially genetic and eventually resolves itself. You can discuss it with her pediatrician and see if one of the available medications might be useful. Generally the condition has no psychological cause, though your daughter's comment about wanting to be a baby gives some pause for sure. In any case, set a firm limit on showering or bathing in the morning and do not permit her to simply get up and dressed and off to school. Insist on good hygiene. So the issue is more how she handles the bedwetting than the fcat that displays bedwetting. If you suspect there may be an emotional component to this it would be easy enought to arrange an evaluation with a menatl health professional.
