Do you still have familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources around that you can talk to about this? It sounds like mental illness, but only a qualfied doctor can say. Hearing voices telling you to do things are related to Bi-Polar disorder, paranoia; delusions and scizophrenia type disorders. There are medications that can control it, but sometimes it does take a while to find the right medication at the right dose. The good thing is that you recognise the change yourself. This has nothing to do with age, intellect or ability. It is something that some people do develop and it is treatable. Because these voices are telling you to hurt other people you should talk with family and a doctor about it. Episodes usually start during times of stress or anxiety, so if there have been any big changes or upset or high levels of stress then that can trigger another episode. Episodes can be of different strength and duration, that is why letting a doctor know is important because you may/may not come through an episode without medication. I think it is advisable to talk this through with your doctor (with a family member with you), so that you can all discuss the options.
