what is verbal auditory agnesia

i was just wondering what verbal auditory agnesia is?  our 28 mounth girl was just dx with it yesturday and i have been unablee to find any additional info regarding it.  is is simulare to a auditory processing disorder.  all i know right know is that the nuerologist says she is not able to understand spoken language and is able to act like she understand in part because she has become very effeciant at reading ques it this common for kids with language disorders? any info is welcomed also is there diffeiciating dx for tje same condition?

Dear Joanna,

I have never heard about the condition you mention. Are you sure it's correct? If your daughter displays a central auditory processing disorder, it means that her brain is hampered in the capacity to understand spoken language. Without doubt, when children have a deficiency in one area of functioning, they compensate in other areas. Thus, physical gestures and facial cues assume a good deal of importance when a child runs into obstacles in their processing of spoken language.

i am sorry i ment verbal auditory agnosia? i know it is a rare problem in 2 year olds and usually asociated with stroke patients.  is it maybe like pure word deaness?
