17 Month Old Grandson Will Not Eat

What can we do to get my grandson to eat real food, he will eat chips, cookies, and french fries but when it comes to eating a meal he will not eat, we have tried giving him finger foods he'll take a bite and then throw it in the floor or leave it on his highchair tray.  He has plenty of energy and is very active.  Is this something he will grow out of.

His weight is on the 10th percentile and his height is just above the 50th percentile which indicates his normal for his age. He is growing so he must be eating some foods. Around this age some children become 'Picky eaters' which some out grow and others are picky until their late teens. It seems he likes to hold the food to eat it so suggest giving him crackers, cheese tubes, pieces of fruit, instead of chips or cookies. Hoped that helped you.
