My son's teacher just informed me that my son is having trouble completing his work. Not that he can't do it, but he is either talking or daydreaming. He is often easily distracted. She said this has been going on for about a month. Some days are better than others. He is at a new school, but has similar problems at his old school. They give him time do his work and he will either talk to other or just sit there. He does exhibit this behavior at home sometime while doing homework. He is a quick learner and I don't know if he's bored or if there is a more serious problem going on. At home he also needs alot of redirection. He also occasionally has problems controlling his emotions. He will get upset at simple things like his pants feel funny. This doesn't happen daily but I would say at least once a week. His diet is pretty regular with alot of fruits and vegetables. He does not eat alot of sugar or candy. I don't know if his eating habits could be a factor. My son also takes medication form Asthma and Allergies which, we are tapering off. He was taking Metaclopramide and Pepcid daily until about the end of November when I stopped the medication. He still takes every other day Xopenex, Pulmicort, Zyrtec, and Singulair. I don't know if any of these medications could be the cause for his problems. Please help!
