8 1/2 year old and his sleeping issues

My 8/12 year old still wets the bed pretty regularly.  He soiled the bed last night really bad (1st time).  He did not wake up to it.  When I cleaned him up at 2 am this morning he was still very grawgy.  Could there be something in his diet causing him to sleep so hard that he can not wake to go to the restroom?  Should I be concerned?  Could it be depression related (we just lost our family pet)?

It is recommended that children who do wet their beds should not drink fuilds1-2 hours before bedtime and go to the bathroom just before they go to bed. I suggest you have your MD do a complete physical on your child.

Hi! I can relate to almoste everything on this site. I used to wet my bed till I was 7. Yes the fluids storie helps but I used to dream I'm going to the toilet and yes the I wet the bed sometimes not even knowing about it. I even sleps walk to the dustbin to take a wee. But I must say I had a rough childhood maybe there's some emotional issues (children dont always talk) Sorry for the spelling I'm Afrikaans
