Child not eating for 6 days

My child developed herpes on the lips and tongue and has not eaten for about six days.  She is drinking fluids and and milk but absolutly refuses to eat solids due to the painof the herpes and I think the fear of the pain.  I took her to the doctor and they said she would be eating in a few days which was after her third day of not eating not she is going on six.  Can you help me with information to as if she is going to be all right when do I need ot take her to the hospital to get a tube feeding.

You need to go to another MD and get medication for the herpes to be treated so she can eat. I suggest you give her, in the meantime, high nutrient dense drinks, such as Pedisure or milkshakes (with milk and ice cream) 3-4 times a day. You can even make a milkshake with Pedisure and ice cream, which is higher in calories. This will give her the calories and protein she needs daily, even though she is not eating solids.
