How to gain weight

My daughter is 17 months and she is weighing 17 lbs. She  is not gaining weight though she eats well. And for a month now she stopped eating solid foods and became very picky and Iam worried  that she is loosing weight. She is  very active and no issues with that. I give her pediasure at night  food and she drinks 4 oz and 6 oz max. since we are vegetarians I give her veggie food and she dnt like cheese too. Any suggestions on how I can feed or what i can feed to gain weight.

Her weight is below the 3rd percentile and her height is just under the 5th percentile for her age. She is petite in stature as per her measurements. If she does not like Pediasure, then suggest using Carnation instant breakfast or make your own milkshakes (milk (if you use) or soymilk and ice cream blended). You should use the milkshakes in place of milk at all meals and snacks. She needs protein sources at each meal such as the milk I mentioned, soy puddings, rice and bean combo, and vegetable and grain combo, to name a few, to help gain weight. At this age she can also be eating finger foods so let her eat on her own. Some tips for additional calories: If they like pasta, then add cream or cheese sauces to the pasta instead of plain tomato sauce or plain pasta. Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional protein sources to soups such as tofu). Use all fat dairy products and no low fat foods so they have the calories they need. As they grow and gain weight after a few years, then you can go to lower fat dairy items. Hoped this helped you.
