Multiple allergies and underwieght

My son was diaganosed with multiple allergoes including milk soy and other legumes nuts and peanuts. He is 35 monts now. It is very difficult to come up with innovative sollution for his food. He was at high percentile (90) when he was born and he has falling on the percentile chart ever since he has been started on solids. What are the things I can try to give him to increase his weight. He can eat all the fruits chicken/lamb veggies ( except beans and peas)/ I am most concerned about his calcim intake. Any advice would really help a long way.

THanks,

Your son's weight and height is in the 25 percentile for his age. He is still in the percentile ranges, which is good. It is challenging to try to provide all the needed nutrients and adhere to the foods he is allowed. Rice milk does not have as many nutrients as regular or soy milk but it helps when children are multi-allergic as your son is. You can make milkshakes with rice milk and frozen fruit to help him gain weight and have a calcium source.  Dark leafy green vegetables are another good source of iron and calcium. Recommend a chewable children’s multi-vitamin to be given daily; and to see a Pediatric Registered Dietitian who can sit and talk to you about different foods he can eat, and do menu/meal planning with you. This will help you not be so challenged and have some less stress. Hoped I was able to help you.

Go to the American Dietetic Association Website, eatright.org and you can find a Registered Dietitian in your area either through the website or contact the Association. Good luck.
