My child is a 6 year old boy, healthy, happy and doing fantastic at school. The thing is he seems to be growing half a inch every week, is this normal? He has always been big, 8lbs 11oz at birth and he grew in the hospital. I was just wondering if this type of growth is normal..also he has very defined muscles on his back, arms and abs and his legs are defined aswell.

Both his weight and height are above the 95th percentile for his age. Are there very tall males in the family which maybe a genetic origin?

I did some looking into it my son is half black (jamaican) and i am scandinavian,  french, irish, and german...and my grandfather had hips of a 6"6 man unfortunatly they never developed because of a fever and all the men in my family are around 6" to"6"1 or 2. So i am wondering how tall my child will actually be.

From what you wrote it sounds like all the males are tall in your family so there is a possibly he will be tall too. Males do not stop growing until their 20's so you have a number of years to see. All the best to you and thank you for your question.
