My daughters weight

The health visitor keeps picking up on the fact my daughter doesn;t put on weight. Shes 2.5 and weighs 21lbs. Shes a good wee eater some days, then has a day or two where she picks at her food. She was 7lb 9 when born and put weight on great until she hit 8 months and had the rota virus, she lost loads of weight and never regained it. What weight should she be?

She is on the lower end of her height and weight for a 2.5 year old. If she has been gaining weight and growing steadily, then she will be fine. From your question you stated she lost weight at some point and did not gain it back? Children at 2 years old do start to become picky eaters so you are not alone with your daughter’s eating habits. I suggest giving her dense nutrient drinks, such as Pedisure or milkshakes instead of regular milk for extra calories. Children love to be involved preparing their food and it may help them to eat different foods. Milkshakes are a great food to start to have children involved. Hope this helped you with your question.
