My son who is 34 months refuses to eat

My son will not eat.  I spoke to his dr a while ago and she offered pedisure.  I was giving him that for a while and then I couldnt afford it so I got the cheaper brand called parents choice, basically has the same ingredients.

But now my son will not eat anything unless its candy, crackers or chips.  He used to at least eat fast food if we got it, he wont even do that anymore.

What do I do?

His weight is between 25-50th percentile and his height is between the 3-5th percentile for his age. His weight is normal. Some children this age start to become very picky eaters. You are not alone. Suggest giving him milkshakes (milk and ice cream blended together – add a banana if he will accept it) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, milk, and frozen fruit blended together) which will give him extra calories, protein, and cheaper than Pediasure. Engage him in the kitchen. Children love to be a part of making food. Have him help you with preparation of food and setting the table. Hopefully this will increase his interest in other types of food. The most important thing is to relax. You do not want mealtimes to be a battle of the wits between your child and you. It is ok if he does not want certain foods; try again in a few weeks. Sometimes it takes 5-9 times to introduce a food to a child that they will accept, however, if they do not want it you have to not make a fuss and let it go. Hoped this helped you.
