My son wont eat

My son wont eat

My son is 19months old, and for about 5months, he has hardly eaten anything, I will put snacks out for him, and he will hardley touch them, If i'm lucky he I can get him to eat between 4 and 8oz of baby food one time per day other than that he throws the spoon out of the way. We've tried letting him use the spoon and fork, and he just throws them and screams, we've tried letting him eat off of our plates, and if he'll take a bit he spits it out and then refuses to eat.I've been giving him pediasure everyday, but i just dont know what else to do? Can you help please?
thanks

His weight is just below the 50th percentile and his height is just below the 95th percentile which indicates he is normal for his age. At 19 months old he can start to eat finger foods and regular foods cut up in small pieces and he can start to feed himself (with his hands) at 3 meals a day. Here is a guideline for an 18-24 month old child should eat the following on a daily basis: Dairy 3-4 feedings a day – Milk (4oz), cheese (½ oz), yogurt (½ cup), or cottage cheese (¼ cup). Starch 4 feedings a day – Cereal (¼ cup), pasta (¼ cup), rice (¼ cup), bread (½ slice), or crackers (2). Fruits & Vegetables 4 feedings a day – Fruits (including 100% juice limited to only 4-6ozs) & Vegetables (¼ cup). Protein source 2 feedings a day – Meat or fish (1oz), egg (1), or beans (¼ cup). The most important thing is to RELAX. You do not want mealtimes to be a battle of the wits between your child and you. Remember meals need to be joyous for you and him. Do not force a child to eat and give them the foods they like. Slowly introduce new foods, and if he does not want it, do not make a fuss over it. Let it go and enjoy the meal. Hoped that helped you.
