Refuses to eat

My son has never been a good eater, but over the past year he has been refusing to eat at times. he will rather go hungry then eat what we fix him. We can fix him something one day an a few days later fix it again and he says he DONT like it. He hides his food to make us think he eats it. What can I do iv tried everything we have even tried bribing him with things and that dont work. if you give him junk thats gone n seconds but food takes him forever to eat there has been times where he has sat at the table for an hour and hardly touches his food...HELP!!!

His weight is just below the 50th percentile and his height is just below the 25th percentile for his age. He is still within normal growth range.  It is frustrating when your child has no interest in healthy foods. Try engaging him in the kitchen more. Have him help you with planning and preparation of food, and setting the table. Hopefully this will increase his interest in food. The most important is to relax at meals. If he will not eat a certain food or not eat too much, do not make a fuss over it. Let it go and enjoy the meal. Suggest giving him a chewable children’s daily multi-vitamin due to his eating habits.
