Spitting up food

Help, My Son is now 16 months and just refuses to eat most finger foods, he even is starting to not eat stage 3 which is what we give him now to get some nutrients in him. He will chew and mash it but refuses to swallow and spits it out. Most of the time as soon as he sees a fork or spoon before taking the first bite he's already throwing his arms up and screaming. This is every meal now. He appears to be hungry because he will point at it  when he wants it but to no luck. It's very stressful to deal with him throwing a tantrum every time at mealtime. We have tried new foods and can't get anywhere.
Toast, Cheerios, and sometime a little bit of a waffle or some pasta stage 3 meals he gets down but it's a challenge every time.. Someone help point me in the right direction?

What foods does he accept and is he drinking any milk? What is his weight and height? Sorry for the questions but I need to know in order to answer your question properly. Thank you.

My son began doing the same thing. When he was a baby, he ate all the time...but also spit up all the time too. AT about 13 months old his appetite greatly reduced and he became more picky. The culprit: Acid Reflux.

After being on Prevacid for about 4 days, he stopped spitting up, his appetite increased, and he was willing to try more foods. It was all about the pain. Also, once he had been on Prevacid for a few days, he also began sleeping through the night. No more night screaming. His stomach acid was finally staying in his stomach.

Hi there, my name is Marla and I knopw exactly how you feel !!!!
I have dealt with this problem for the longest time and still having issues.

My son is 15mo old and the pickiest eater, we let our son eat only finger foods. Let him pick up the foods he likes and feed himself. The book called baby Superfoods was helpful too. Is your son thin or a low weight percentile ??? mine is.

Whaty do you think ???
