Underweight

My son started showing signs of no appetite at 3 months, I struggled to feed him at this point and this has continued to be a problem.  At the age of 2 he was seen by several specialist trying to find a reason for him still not wanting to eat enough and was 17 pounds at that point.  It was after that, that he had a feeding tube put in.  As of now he receives about 800 calories every night by a pump.  He has had feeding therapy which helped some, but he continues to not eat enough.  He will try anything, it just takes very little for him to be full.  He has had allergy testing and a gene array panel done.  He is a very happy, social, energetic child.

Other symptoms:  far sighted, hyperflexible joints, very dry skin, peanut allergy

His weight is just below the 5th percentile and his height is just below the 50th percentile for his age. He is tall for his weight so he appears thinner. Whatever food he is given, suggest it is nutritional rich with protein, vitamins, and minerals so he get more nutrients due his eating habits. Suggest increasing the amount of tube feeding at night to gain weight. It is good he goes to feeding therapy which takes time. The most important is to relax at meals and give him the food he likes that is nutritional rich. Hoped that helped you.
