WORRIED ABOUT HER SIZE

My 8 year old is alot smaller than most children in her class. Her intelligence level is fine but she has a maturaty level of about a two to three year old. She ahs been diagnosed with ADHD and insomnia. The medicines don't seem to help. Could something else be going on besides ADHD that would be causing all of her problems.

From the measurements you stated her weight and height is below the 5th percentile for her age. How is her appetite? Suggest giving her Pedisure or Carnation Instant Breakfast drink for extra calories and protein to help her grow. There have been numerous studies of diets with ADHD, however, nothing has been scientifically proven. The best management is behavioral modification and medication. Suggest asking another forum , Child Behavior, your question or go to your MD to be recommended to a Doctor who specializes in ADHD children.
