Won't eat or drink much of anything

My 12 month old is not eating solid foods yet, and doesn't drink much formula either.  It is a constant struggle to get him to eat his baby food ( I still feed him Gerber Stage 2 baby food).  I am lucky if I get him to eat 2 of these a day (one fruit, one veggie, and if I'm lucky maybe half of a meat at dinner with a part of veggie).  If I try to introduce any type of solid, he spits it out.  I know he is able to chew because he will eat crackers...it's about the only solid food he will eat consistently.  I have small successes here and there ( a bite or two of a green beans, mashed potatoes, rice or hot dogs), but the next time I try to give him a food that we seemed to have success with before, he refuses it.  He also doesn't want his formula (enfamil lipil next step).  I offer him 26 oz a day, but I am lucky if he drinks 16 oz.  There are days he only gets 12 or 13 oz.  He won't drink juice or water for me either.  I am so concerned.  He has lost all his baby chubby fat, and hasn't really grown for several months.  He was 26 lbs at his 9 month visit, and he still weighs the same amount 3 months later.  He was 31 inches at his 9 month visit, and am not sure how long he is now, but he couldn't have grown much because he is still wearing all the same size clothes.  I just don't know what to do.  My daughter was such a great eater and I never had these problems with her.  He is also throwing tantrums every time I try to feed him.  Is something wrong with him?  Do I need to be concerned about the lack of food/ formula intake?  Please help.

He is a year old so switch him to Pediasure from formula which a dense nutritional drink and has more calories and protein then milk. Try giving it to him in a sippy cup instead of a bottle, maybe he will accept it that way. Have you tried giving him finger foods and letting him eat on his own? The most important thing is to relax. Let him eat what he wants. Slowly introduce new foods, and if he does not want it, do not make a fuss over it. Let it go. Suggest having him checked by his doctor to make sure there is nothing medically going on with him.

I think you are lucky to have your child drinking 16oz of formula, my 10 month daughter won't drink more than 2 onzes a time... She refuses babyfood, but seems to be very interested in solids, just if she eat them by herself, if i try to feed her she will split it and them eat it by herself... Try let the food on her tray while the family eats, she will probably get interested.. I feed her yogurt and icecream to try to replace the milk that she is not drinking...
