Her weight is between the 5-10th percentile and her height is below the 5th percentile for her age. She is still on the growth chart for weight which is good, and she maybe just small in stature. Does the family have a history of small women? That is good you are using milkshakes and Pediasure. Suggest giving her milkshakes in place of milk at every meal. Make sure she is eating a protein food each meal (meat, fish, cheese, or yogurt) too. Some tips for additional calories: If she likes pasta, then add meat or cream sauces to the pasta instead of plain tomato sauce or plain pasta. Add dry milk to oatmeal, mashed potatoes, gravies, creamed vegetables, and creamed soups (add additional meats to soups). Use all fat dairy products and no low fat foods so she gets the calories she needs. As she grows and gain weight after a few years, then you can go to lower fat dairy items. Hoped this helped you.
