irritable bowel

My daughter is 2 1/2.  For the past 3-4 weeks she's made 20-40 bowel movements per day.  We've gone thru all kind of tests for parasites/bacterial infection etc (tests include: stool, blood, x-ray, ultrasound) - and found nothing wrong.  Our doctor thinks she picked up a virus about a month ago, and it has left her with irritable bowel syndrome - we're a little skeptical.  (This has left her with the worst rash I've ever seen)

We're at the end of our rope - does the diagnosis make sense?  If so, what can we do about it?

Thanks

Has she been tested for any allergies for gluten (Celiac disease) or lactose intolerance? These do cause diarrhea or multiple bowel movements. Celiac disease has been misdiagnosis as Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Suggest you go see a Gastroenterologist to help you find out what is wrong and then get properly treated.
