my 3 month old doesn't like to be held while eating

My 3 month old doesn't like to be held in the cradle position while eating. He prefers to lie on his back and eat. Everytime I hold him while he is eating, he gets extremely agitated and thrashes back and forth until I lie him on the sofa. Then he takes the bottle, no problem, and eats away. Is this strange? He was on prevacid for reflux, although I have missed a couple of doses, and he doesn't seem to mind, as long as he is lying on the sofa or floor to eat. I try to change positions while holding him, but it doesn't seem to work. I hope that allowing him to eat while lying on his back is OK.

If your son enjoys eating on his back, eats well, and has no reflux issues, then let him eat that way. Just remember to burp him. Thank you for your question.
