newborn grunting

i have a 2 month old preemie girl that ws in the nicu for three weeks, after she came home she started  grunting continually day, night and when she is eating. she does not seem to be in pain but uncomfortable. she has alot of gas and have tried alot of different formulas, lactose free,neo sure,nutramigen,allimentum and now soy. nothing has chanaged the grunting and lamb like sounds, infact things got worse , spitup, more gas, diarhea (diarrhea), and a terrible rash. I am tired of regressing and want to start progressing , I recentley switched to soy two days ago the rash is now gone, but i read that soy milk should not be given to preemies? My doctor doesn't know what the grunting is all about and i wanted to know if  any other moms have experienced this and if anything helped?  Also at 5 weeks old she popped out a herniated belly button and didn't know if it had anything to do with the grunting.?

Soy baby formula would be ok depending on the week of gestation at birth and the age it is started. Remember she is now 2 months old, however, you did not state her age at birth. If she is doing ok with the formula without the gas, diarrhea, and growing then she will be fine. If your MD does not know about the grunting, suggest you speak to one of the NICU MDs about it.
