not eating

My son is not eating well. I try to make him what he wants just for us to get him to eat but he refuses.  He has gotten to the point that he will cry just because i sit there with him until he eats a little just so there is something in his tummy.  He does drink around 2-4 cups of milk a day. What should i do?

His weight is just above the 50th percentile and his height is just above the 75th percentile, which indicates he is normal for his age. Since he is drinking milk, suggest giving him milkshakes (milk, ice cream, and fruit blended) in place of milk to maintain his weight. It can be frustrating to you when he has no interest in food. Suggest he has his meals with the family together and give him finger food (hopefully the food you eat) so he feeds himself. Relax at meals and let him eat what he wants. Try introducing new foods. Sometimes it takes 5-9 times to introduce a food that he will accept, however, if he do not want it you have to not make a fuss and let it go. Give him the food he likes. Hoped this helped you.
