refusing to eat

My two year old son had a stomach virus a week ago and vomited twice.  Since then, he has refused to eat almost all food (both solids and soft foods). He will drink some milk and some juice. I do not think he is still sick - I believe he is afraid to eat because he is fearful of vomiting again.  I keep offering him different food choices which he continues to refuse.  I called my doctor twice and was told to keep up the liquids and wait it out but I'm concerned because he is less energetic than usual and appears to be losing some weight.  Is there anything else I could be doing to help my son get past this fear of eating?

I have to agree with your MD. It sounds like your son is still recovering from his illness or is sicker then just a stomach virus because he is 'less energetic' then before as you stated. Recommend to have your son checked by his MD again if he is still only drinking liquids through the weekend.
