sugar and smelly vagina

sugar and smelly vagina

I have a  2 1/2 year old that has been having a very smelly vagina. I tried everything from diet, meat, soap, milk, and anything others had suggested. I was wondering is it possible that sugar could (drinks, cereal, candy) be causing her to have a odor down there. I took her off of kool aid and hic and just put her on cran-grape and milk to drink and it seems to have taken away the odor. She does not say her "thingy" hurts anymore. Can someone shed some light on how sugar breaks down and could she possibly be having problems breaking down the sugar in her body?

Remember that urine is excreted in that area and you stated that you are now giving her cran-grape juice and the 'odor' has disappeared. Cranberry juice does help neutralize the urine in the kidneys to decrease infections. Suggest you have her go to her Doctor to have her urinary tract / kidneys checked.

Ok let me type this again I did not mean to say that the odor has gone away but it has resided a little bit. I know it is not the urine becasue after she showers the order is still there and I have taken her to the doc for test and all of them come back normal. I was wondering is there anything else I could suggest to the doc like sugar problems or something else. What would cause a smelly vagina besides the things mentioned above?

If she had issues with sugar, such as diabetes, it would be the urine that smells 'sugary' not the vagina. Yogurt helps keep the natural bacteria healthy in that area so that infections will not occurs. That usually happens with adults not children. Suggest having her MD check her with cultures.

I was just about to post a similar question.  My daughter is almost 7, and has an almost chronic odor that comes from her vaginal area.  I thought initially the odor was the result of her not wiping herself adequately, however, the smell is not that of feces.  It is a very smelly sweet smell.  There is constantly a yellow smelly discharge in her panties.  I had initially thought that maybe she had a yeast infection, but she does not complain of any pain or itching. Any ideas?

I was told that if it sweet smelling that it could be a sugar problem. I have not yet discovered the problem with my Mia but we are redoing all the test and the doc put her on some antibiotic just in case. I would most def take her to the doc and get her sugar checked and just becasue she does not itch that does not mean she does not have a bacterial infection. They can do a cbc to see if there is some kind of infection in her body. I hope you figure this out.

HI girls well i read the post and i have two say i have the same problem with both my girls 7 and 4 and we have done ever test you can think of and is all normal and my sister and law her little girl is also four and she has had the same thing her doctor told her that it is very normal and that they need more water its all the food that they eat so not sure if that is true but for both my girls and there cousin to have the same thing going on i guess its just a little girl thing because my oldest was about two when i noticed and now my youngest is also like that and my eight yr son never had anything like that. So anyways just wanted to let you know your not alone and hopefully your babies test will come back fine. I just have my girls take a bath twice a day.

I've heard that some people have odors because of their ph balance.  I had the same problem when I was younger.
