From the weight and height you stated his weight is on the 5th percentile and his height just below the 5th percentile for his age. Was he born earlier then his due date, if so then he is normal for his age? Around 2 years old some children become picky eaters so it becomes hard for the parents when you want to feed them correctly. They are more interested in the world around them and not in eating. Suggest you give him nutrient dense drinks such as Pedisure or Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink instead of milk. He will get additional calories, nutrients, and protein to grow. Engage him with preparation of food. Have him help you set the table or do something for the meal. Children love to be a part of making food. Mealtimes can be a battlefield when children do not have an interest to eating healthy or eat very little. It becomes the battle of the wits between the child and the parents. Relax at meals and let him eat what he wants. Slowly introduce new foods, and if he does not want it, do not make a fuss over it. Let it go and enjoy your meal. Try again in a few weeks. Thank you for your question.
