underweight 3year old thats tube feed

What can i do to help my son gain weight? He is 3 years old, he was born without any problems, but at a week old we was in a deadly car accident that left him with brain damage. We have our good and bad days as far as his feedings are concern. Some days i can get all of his feeds for the day with no problem, some days i cant get in have of them. We were doing very well for about 3 months, had got up to almost 35 pounds then he caught a cold and everything went down hill from there. I have been having a hard time getting him back on tack every since. is there anything i can give him to help him gain faster?

His weight and height are below the 3rd percentile for his age. You did not mention the type of Tube feed formula he is on. Has the Doctors tried a high calorie tube feed either 1.5 or 2.0 calorie that is more nutrient dense that may help him gain weight? If not, suggest changing Tube feed formulas to 1.5 or 2.0 calorie. Another suggestion is to do continuous feeds at night (if that is possible) help increase his weight and growth. Hoped that helped you.
