3 Year Old's Leg Pain

by skonare08, Oct 19, 2009 04:13PM
My 3 year old daughter has been complaining about her legs aching.  It is right behind her knees she says and when I start asking her questions she says they ache on the inside.  She first said they were asleep but then when I ask if they are tingily, achy, or hurt she says achy.  I asked if it was on the outside or inside and she says inside her bones.  I don't know if she is just saying it because I'm bringing it up but she complains everyday for like the last week or so.  I was thinking it might be growing pains but I'm not so sure. She is taller for her age and not as active as she used to be.  We just moved overseas so I didn't know if it was the change in location and the cold or if it was because of the achiness in her legs.  it is normally at night time that she complains or after long walks around town, when she actually wants to go outside.  Any idea or any additional info needed?

I think that long walks would make a 3 year olds muscles ache, is she at any pre school or go to any gym?too much exercise ,  is she unwell in any other way, any fever, or other symptoms.

When I say long walk I mean like a 10 minuate walk around town.  But that's not every day.  She is not in Preschool as of now.  She was back in the States but not here, I am homeschooling her.  She has been a little warmer to the touch than normal but sign of a fever or anything. I'd say whinny but that's a 3 year old.  I feel like she doesn't get enough exercise compared to her typical day so that's when we ake walks otherwise she is just inside playing or doing school work.

Perhaps keep an eye on her and if it continues get her checked out ,if you have moved to a colder climate that may have something to do with it, so as she gets used to it ,it may get better, as she is with you it canyt be the strangeness of other people, do they speak English ?
