Canada's Health Care System (Medicare)

Just a clarification: jdtm, on October 1st, 2008, mentioned to Dr. Rebecca Resnick that in Canada we have Universal Health Care and all you need is a referral to access a mental health specialist. This is true except for certain professions, such as Psychologists, who opted out of the plan at its inception and are paid directly by their patients.
