Convulsion

Hello,

My daughter, 3 months old started coughing and having difficulty sleeping well at night. She was also throwing up most times she was fed. This continued for about 3 days so we took her to the hospital. We were told they suspect Malaria and we were given malaria drugs for her. We took her home, gave her the drugs and then she slept off. On waking up, she started jerking her right leg and her left hand. The jerking got severe as her eyes became white and rolled to one side. She was in this state for about 15 minutes before we could get her back to the hospital. At the emergency room of the hospital, the took her blood and ran lots of tests- all of which came out okay. They have asked me to bring her back for a check in two days time but they don't seem to know what happened to my daughter. WHAT HAPPENED TO HER? WOULD IT HAPPEN AGAIN? WOULD IT AFFECT HER BRAIN? Please somebody tell me.

It sounds like,  from this link,  that seizures are VERY common in children with malaria.

Possibly she doesn't have malariai and the meds contributed to her seizure.  I take care of children. One of them couldn't keep her feedings down when she was a couple months old. She ended up having a problem with the opening of her stomach. Once she had surgery she was fine.

next time you go to see your lil ones dr. ask if she needs to see a neurologist i have a lil 2yr. old with seizures there not easy at all but she has sturge weber syndrome. but the neurologist can answer more questions on why this is happening. prayers for your family from mine.
