For Sensory Processing Disorders!!

I thought that I would share this with all of you parents, grandparent, etc. My son recieves amazing care from many healthcare professionals, and they are always giving me great ideas! You may have already heard of this but I thought I would share anyways :)

It is called 'Heavy Work/ Deep Pressure". And it does work GREAT!! Just make sure that if you try these ideas, to watch to see what over stimulates him/her or understimulates, and adjust accordingly. It really helps behavior issues!
We found that carrying a heavy backpack is very calming. Just type it into google, etc. Alot of great things come up!

My son just turned 6 and was diagnosed with sensory at 4.  I attest to the deep pressure/heavy work being effective.  My son is a sensory seeker----  so crash pads of pillows are awesome too.  Jennifer, if you ever want to share ideas---  let me know.  I work on this stuff with my kid each and every day.  He's doing really great and there are no concerns at school . . . a minor miracle!  Thanks for sharing.

my son is 4.5 yrs old and he goes to Op and it is great he can be touched now with out screaming all the time. Its not all the time but its better than what it was. He also cant have wind touch him because it hurts him or whatever it does to him he dont klike it. He is sloooooooooowly getting better. Depends on the day and his moods. I love op.
