Resources for an intelligent child with behavior issues

I have brought my 10 year old son to several psychologists over the past 3 years - none has really come up with any resources or helpful suggestions so far.   My son is very intelligent, inquisitive and thinks waaaay outside the box.  He is in enrichment programs where he excels - it is his behavior, usually in the face of frustration, that is a severe issue.  He will throw a full blown tantrum at least once a week - and feel great remorse and embarassment.  He functions well with most children - but the bullying years are descending.  Physically, he is not the most coordinated child - specifically with hand/eye coordination (most sports involving balls are problematic)  - but does well with solo activities such as bike riding, swimming, climbing trees, etc.  He needs some extra structure and help in his school.  I am considering pulling him from the public school and enrolling him in a local parochial school - which I do not think is as advanced academically.  I cannot afford any of the schools for "gifted children" at this point.  Where can I look for resources and guidance?

My son is gifted and either has ADHD/Asperger's or bi-polar (docs can't decide).  He does go to a special school that accommodates him.  My daughter has a friend who stayed in the public schools and who is in the gifted program at her school.  He has a behavioral management aide provided by the Board of Ed.  I think he may have Asperger's which usually gets an aide.  You should have your so evaluated and he may be able to get an aide.

Isnt it amazing this is what I have found having worked in the teaching field with children with Autism and ADHD they were nearly all the most intelligent I had met, That is the most facinating part of being around them and to get the feeling and perspective they have, I also noticed they did not have the coordination of other children, as for bullying as with all schools one hopes the teachers are on top of this problem  , I have also noticed that children with Autism /Asbergers  for whatever reason, ride out the bullying I thought that possibly it was because they actually dont react to it, and bullies need that reaction to continue, watch and you will see, Good Luck
