7yr coughing for almost year

I have brought my son to the doctors over and over for coughing. They put him on an inhaler and a nebulize nothing seems to work . And know one smokes in the house.He coughs all day long.Anyone have any ideas? I have even changed his bedding pillows .And have two dogs and two cats.It seems to have started from our last place we lived and got worse.Someone said acid reflux ?

Hello, I don't know if this will help, but I am 16 years old and have had a bad cough since last year.  I have just been diagnosed with an allergy to perfumes/irritants, and asthma.  I too had been put on inhalers since about grade 8 for shortness of breath (didn't work).  My doctor changed my inhalers to symbicort 2 weeks ago (du to severe asthma attack) and now my cough is becoming a lot better.  You could maybe talk to your doctor about allergy testing and asthma testing, along with trying a different kind of inhaler.
