Aspergillus/Chronic Cough/Enlarged Lymph Nodes

Hi.  I have a 4 year old with a chronic dry cough, which has been intermittently ongoing for the past 1.5 years.  She had a horrible case of pneumonia a year ago.  After a consult with allergist and pediatrician last Spring, she was found to have enlarged lymph nodes on one side of neck.  Surgeon removed and biopsied/cultured.  Culture was positive for aspergillus (aspergillosis).  We then visited the pediatric infectious disease specialist.  He confirmed diagnosis and advised not to act.  We had extensive mold testing done in and out of house.  Aspergillus (aspergillosis) was found in mulch.  Mulch was removed.  Now, several months later, she still has the cough--despite being on singulair and occasionally benadryl.  Additionally, she has dark circles under her eyes.  We seem to go back and forth between the pediatrician and allergist, yet have no answers for the continuing cough.  We are very frustrated to hear the cough all the time and wonder if we should be doing more.  Any suggestions?  Thanks much for anything you can offer.

I have been on a journey to find answers for my sons condition/illness...his symptoms are not the same, but I see these listed when I read about candida.  There is a simple computer test you can take that will tell you if your childs symptoms are candida related or not and what the percentage that it is likely the cause.  There is a ton of info on the net about candida...one site I have found that is very helpful is candidafree.net.  It has lots of resources and articles, though keep in mind it is selling a probiotic to combat candida.  If you do find that candida may be the culprit, do not expect the Dr. to diagnose him.  I have spent much money and time doing my due diligence to find how to help my son and the Naturopath and Nutritionist have done way more in helping us than the Dr.  Please don't misunderstand, I respect medicine and know that it is needed/useful.  But in this case, the medical community seems to turn a blind eye.  The good news (again if it is candida related) is that it can be treated with nutrition and supplements.  It works...we have been doing it.  My son has made tremendous strides in the past few months in the right direction whereas before we were on a downward spiral with his symptoms.  Good luck.
