My 8 month old...

We were outside playing when my 8 month old crawled into a tiny ant bed, I grabbed him up, but not in time, he got about 20+ ant bites all over him. Is this dangerous?!? Should I consider taking him to th ER? The bumps are swelling up pretty fast they are about pea sized right now but growing.

Red ants (fire ants) are allergic to some people ... and anytime a 'swarm' of an insect bites anybody the reaction can be worse.   I am new to this community so didn't see your post until now but not new to allergies.

How did you make out?  Did Benadryl do the trick?  Has he been tested thru blood for allergic reaction now that more 6weeks has passed .. antibodies become apparent in that time frame .. or did all settle down.

I hope he is ok
