swollen tonsils and tounge pushing on teeth

I know my daughter has allergies.  I took her to a natural dentist and a nutritionist.  However, she is bothered by the allergies anyway, because it is hard for her to follow her diet when I am not around and I haven't been as strict as I know I should be.  We visited the dentist again today and he showed me how swollen her tonsils were and also said her tonge was pushing on her teeth, creating a gap in her front teeth and making her bite uneven.  Is her tonge messing up her teeth because it can't sit back further in her mouth because of the swollen tonsils?  He also said he thinks she needs speech thearapy because of it, even though she speaks very clearly. Does anyone know anything about the tonge, tonsils and teeth that would help clairfy what I need to do?
