Bad Chiropractor?

Bad Chiropractor?

Hey everyone

I've had terrible chest pain and headaches for almost two months now.  I've had all the proper tests done (neuro & cardio) to rule out these pains being anything serious (i.e tumors/heart disease).  So I decided to see a Chiropractor recommended by a coworker. (the Dr is a Chiropractor/kinesiolgist)

I always thought a Chiropractor would take me and crack my body and move me apart to snap things in place.  Instead, my chiropractor just lightly touches me in some "problem areas" which after 2 sessions she says I am improving.  Now since my two sessions, my chest pain is the same, and my headaches not so bad, but let me mention that I am also wearing a phiten necklace now.

So my question is, has anyone gone to a Chiropractor like this?  Does it really work? I feel like I'm being had here.

Within the profession of chiropractic, doctors are entitled to perform a wide variety of therapies, modalities, treatments, etc... Under state law, they ALL fall under the category of "chiropractic." Different states have different definitions of what constitutes chiropractic care.

Applied Kinesiology, or AK, is performed by chiropractors, but the approach is very unique and different from conventional chiropractic care. Personally, I've never received AK treatments, so I cannot comment on whether or not it works... but I do know that many patients speak very highly of their experiences under AK.

If you do not notice any improvements and decide it's not helping you, it's not a bad idea to try another chiropractic office for a second/third opinion.
