Chiropractic Following Spinal Fusion

Chiropractic Following Spinal Fusion

Three years ago, I had L4-L5 fused, and I have titanium rods and screws in my back.. I am having a lot of pain. Because of the location of the pain and other symptoms, I suspect an SIJ problem, and would like to consult a chiropractor. Would my fusion prevent or interfere with his treatment? Is there potential for damage to the surgery or hardware?

There are a variety of chiropractic techniques available to you that will not threaten the surgical fusion.

You can consult with an Upper Cervical chiropractor (www.UpCspine.com), or find a full-spine DC who utilizes the Pro-Adjuster, ArthroStim, or Activator/Integrator adjusting tools. Another option is any practitioner with experience using the Logan Basic technique.
