Right sided rib cage pain

by Lorileah, Aug 25, 2008 11:40PM
Hello, I have had rib pain 2 months now.  My chiropractor and natural path say my rib goes into spasm.  I don't understand what has caused this.  Sometimes the pain is pinching pain and my ribs are very tender.  Any advice?

Your rib is a bone. Bone's do not spasm - muscles do that.

Does it hurt when you breathe?

Warm wishes,

Sorry, I guess i wasn't very specific.  Yes, it is the muscles surrounding the bones that are going into spasm.  It does not hurt when I breathe.  When i get up in the morning I feel great, by the afternoon I start to feel pain and it gets worse by dinner.  By the time I go to bed it gets better and I don't have any problems when I am asleep.  I do notice that if I stand rather than sit at the computer - it doesn't get as aggrevated.

Sounds like it's a postural problem. Did you chiropractor take x-rays of your spine before beginning treatment?

Warm wishes,
