Scoliosis?

Scoliosis?

back pain in my upper right back, shoulder, neck and arm. chiropractor 5 times with no improvement In 2005 I had been experiencing pain in my hips and feet. orthopedic surgeon who wanted to remove calcification on hip and  bunions on the outside of my feet. I have yet to have surgery on these issues-they are manageable. The entire upper right region of my back has been swollen and sore for eight months despite my efforts-heat, ice, massage, stretch, yoga, rest. small golf ball size knots around muscles  impossible to massage  feel like rocks. The upper most part of my spine feels sore and bruised The pain radiates into my shoulder blade, upper right arm, collarbone, and chest. I hear this loud pop  where my neck connects to my right shoulder closest to my spine. It often feels like my shoulder blade shifts as if moving from one side to the next. I can hear crackling  grinding  strange sensations of air being released whenever I stretch or try to loosen the muscles up. Sometimes all the way into the depths of my head. It is difficult to do simple tasks that involve raising my hand over my head. I am in good health 25 year old female, 5'5" 120 lbs. I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis as a young child. No x-rays have been done to tell me the degree of my curve. My paternal father has rhematoid arthritis and their is familial history of cancer, arthritis, and bone issues- one great aunt wtih a hunchback and a grandmother with deformed feet. This is my entire medical history- I am just hoping someone will read my long post- tell me if any of this is connected and help me get to the bottom of my back pain that is KILLING my life and spirit!

You need to reassess the chiropractic approach.  Unfortunately you may have had a chiropractor who was unable to address your needs correctly.  Unfortunately people are very unforgiving with our profession, have one poor experience with us and people write the whole profession off.  Have a poor experience with an accountant or mechanic and they'll look for a better one.  Sounds like you need to see a better chiropractor.  The best ones are usually the ones that do thorough neurological testing and X-rays and based on these findings recommend a course of care specific to you.  The best chiropractors also have usually an educational program where you better understand how to care for yourself and avoid aggravations.  I don't think you would've had that with your previous chiropractor.  All the best
