I've met a few chiropractors in the past who, prior to attending chiropractic college, were massage therapists. Having seen the benefits of massage therapy work, they incorporate elements of massage into their treatments. My guess is they feel that relaxing the muscles and surrounding soft tissues will complement the spinal adjustment.

Likewise, I've met physical therapists who later became licensed chiropractic physicians. They too blend their knowledge of physical therapy and rehabilitation with chiropractic care.

Assuming your doctor explained his treatment methods to you in advance, didn't ask you to disrobe, didn't fondle you, and treated you in a respectful and professional manner, I wouldn't be alarmed.
