hi, i was reaching for a dish and felt the most excruciating pain in my back.  i am in a tremendous amount of pain now and when i breathe it HURTS.  could this be a simple muscle pull? if so, should i visit my chiro or doc or should i ride it out for a few days on ibuprofen and massage (cold or hot)?  thanks ever so much!

If you feel it is an emergency, there's no sense in waiting. But if you can manage, see what develops over the next day or so... if the pain intensifies, visit either type of doc.
