tailbone pain

Can chiropractic treatment help with coccydynia?  I am currently undergoing tests to determine a diagnosis and possible treatment for tailbone pain.  This pain started in early Jan 2010 intermittently when I sat.  It continued to become more apparent until it is now always present if I sit. I went to my doctor thinking I might have bruised my tailbone somehow but don't know of any injury preceding the pain.  He has sent me for a colonoscopy, which came out mostly normal, some diverticulosis noted and pain consistent with coccydynia.  Also I have had a pelvid ultrasound with normal results.  I just had a traditional MRI done on Friday of my entire pelvic, back, and sacral areas.  I was aware of a dynamic sit/stand xray or a dynamic MRI and had hoped to be able to have one of those done for a more definitive diagnosis.  However no such machines are available locally.  My general physican told me he would refer me to an orthopaedic specialist, primarily working in spine treatment.  He had also mentioned a chiropractor as a possiblity.  I want to undergo the least invasive of any treatment and wonder if a chiropractor could help?

It's certainly possible... Start my searching your area for a chiropractor who is proficient with the "Logan Basic" adjusting technique. If not that, try finding one who does SOT (Sacral-Occipital Technique). They should be able to address this issue in a non-invasive manner.
