what are the symptoms of a rib out of place?

You have answered a question of mine about whether I could see a chiropractor with my cervical fusion.  I have been reluctant because its hard to find a chiropractor that I trust, even a medical doc after all I've been thru.  But I saw the website for referrals and will look at that.  My pain management doctor told me to try chiro because he thinks I have a problem with a rib.  What would be the symptoms of that.  I told him when I press on the ribs in my upper chest, that I can fell it in my back where it hurts.  But could this mess up my whole upper body for instance?  Just looking for your thoughts on that.  Thank you?

Generally speaking, an out of place rib will have a sharp, radiating (moving) pain upon movement, that hurts when you breathe.

One out of place rib would not, however, impact the entire upper body.
