Adult Inclusion Conjunctivitis and Pools

Here is the scenario:

BF and I buy a wading pool for the backyard during these hot months... fill it up, put a little salt in it and start swimming... a few days later, BF gets a case of pink eye. As an adult, my only case of pink eye was when I had an STD several years ago, so I got concerned. Then a few days after that, Roommate finds out that he has chlamydia. He has been in the pool a good deal as well. There is no chlorine in the pool.

So I get to doing some research, and find out that Inclusion Conjunctivitis is cause by the Chlamydia bacteria and can be caught indirectly by underchlorinated pools. I believe that BF didn't get pink eye, but rather this Conjunctivitis.

Question 1: BF's eye looks better after a week or so... Do I still ask him to get treatment? Or is it something that his body can clear out itself?

Question 2: Is it possible to catch the actual genital STD Chlamydia through the pool? Or is it just the conjunctivitis version that can be caught in underchlorinated pools?

Question 3: BF's children were also in the pool, should we have them tested even thought they haven't had symptoms?

Thanks for any help...!

chlamydia woul dnot transmit to someone's eye or genitals in that manner it would have died in the pool although.

If you're swimming in a pool with nothing to filter it your bound to get an infection
